1. Bed Sizes Explained

All sizes are in feet (length × width). The first number is the length of the bed along the wall; the second is the width you sleep across.

📐 How to measure your room first: Measure the wall you'll place the bed against. Subtract 2 feet on each open side for walking space. If the remaining width fits the bed, you're good. Example: 14 ft room − 4 ft walkway = 10 ft → a 6 ft wide king bed fits with 2 ft on each side.

2. Ply Types — Local vs Greenply

The ply (plywood) is the structural skeleton of your bed. Which you choose affects durability, moisture resistance, and how the furniture ages.

No internal voids — uniform core means screws and joints hold firmly for years

Longer lifespan — 15–20 years vs 8–12 for local ply
Higher cost — typically ₹2,000–₹5,000 more per bed
✓ Best for: Master bedrooms, coastal or humid climates (Bengal, Mumbai, Kerala), long-term investment furniture.
💡 Our recommendation for West Bengal: Kolkata and Howrah have high humidity, especially during monsoon. Greenply MR grade is the safer long-term choice — the extra cost pays for itself in avoided repairs and replacement. For kids' rooms or secondary bedrooms, local ply is perfectly acceptable.
3. Hydraulic Storage vs Standard Bed

A hydraulic bed has gas-lift pistons under the mattress base. Lift the platform and you get a large hidden storage compartment below. A standard bed has no under-bed storage (or optional side drawers).

 Choose this if your bedroom has limited wardrobe space, or you want to store seasonal clothing, bedding, or luggage out of sight.
💡 How much storage does hydraulic give you? A 6×7 ft hydraulic bed has roughly 35–40 cubic feet of under-bed storage — enough for 4–5 large suitcases or a full set of winter bedding. The gas pistons hold up the mattress base hands-free while you load and unload.
